"At Andalu the food is perfectly paced, generally two dishes at a time. The wine list, one of the best in the city, features dozens of wines by the glass, a stellar selection of half- bottles and a dozen interesting flights.
The look of the interior is also more fully realized and refined than at most places in its price range. The 130- seat dining room, which once housed Maya Taqueria, maintains a Mission sensibility but with a Pacific Heights refinement. The impressive space features an open kitchen, a mezzanine and soaring ceiling, where a whimsical row of porthole windows resembling Champagne bubbles dances across the upper reaches of the walls. It's an apt symbol, because after a meal at Andalu, I feel like celebrating."
