Our 18,000 square foot Mayan Temple features a guided tour through an exciting hands on experience with exotic endangered species. Some of our stars include Jay the Bobcat, Cleo the Frilled Lizard, Hercules our Savannah Monitor, and Ozzy the Cockatoo.
Your tour begins and ends in the Galeria del Mundo, a large event space that is perfect for a sit down dinner or lecture, educational conference or meeting, or simply for mixing and mingling. We also have outdoor space available for larger events.
The Star Eco Station is open to the public on weekends for eco-educational tours, and hosts a variety of activities throughout the year including community and private organization events, workshops, conferences, fundraisers and birthday parties. Private events are welcomed. Naturalist guided, hands-on tours are available.
Star Eco Station is a non-profit organization that provides rescue and rehabilitation of illegal or abandoned at-risk exotic wildlife, as well as environmental education outreach programs, in 41 California school districts. In partnership with the U.S.Fish and Wildlife Service, STAR ECO Station rescues and houses at-risk and endangered exotic wildlife at our 18,000 square-foot Mayan Temple facility in Culver City. Visitors experience hand-on lessons of ecology and environmentalism on a wild and fun encounter with rescued tropical birds, exotic reptiles, wildcats and ocean life in a tropical setting.
In addition, environmental partnerships enhance the station with 15 educational displays from such organizations as the World Wildlife Fund, US fish and Wildlife and Santa Monica BayKeeper's uniques walk-thru Kelp Forest and storm drain display.
