A favorite Bay Area adult retreat center, Westminster lies south of Walnut Creek in the San Ramon Valley. Built with enduring elegance in 1929 as a private estate, the retreat include two separate facilities: the Manor and the Lodge. Westminster’s proximity to the urban bay area makes it ideal for day use groups.
The Manor accommodates 30 overnight guests in eight bedrooms on the second floor. The living room, with a large fireplace and piano, provides a comfortable meeting place. The beautiful adjoining patio can be used as an additional gathering place in fair weather.
The Lodge was originally built as a carriage house. Completely renovated in 1964, it provides charming quarters for up to 20 guests in 7 rooms. Two ADA accessible bathrooms are located on the lower floor. A third bathroom is located on the second floor. The brick floor lounge in the Lodge offers an informal atmosphere for small groups. A coffee room and break-out room are available for guest use.
Westminster guests enjoy delicious meals, graciously served in elegant dining rooms. The main dining room seats 40; a smaller dining room seats 20.
The grounds of Westminster Retreat are immediately adjacent to Las Trampas Regional Wilderness Park and offer miles and miles of beautiful trails. Westminster recreation includes a seasonal swimming pool, horseshoes, ping pong, volleyball and a walking labyrinth.
