Nestled in the redwoods, at the foot of Mount Tamalpais in historic downtown Mill Valley, the Community Church offers a warm, one-of-a-kind environment for celebrating your wedding, commitment ceremony, Bar Mitzvah, meeting, memorial or community event.
The combination of our meeting facilities and the boutique hotels and restaurants in our immediate neighborhood offers you and your guests the intimacy of a small town event just ten minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge.
Our event coordinator, Marsha Heckman, is a best selling author of wedding guides. From the instant you contact her you can be confident that our abundant resources and cooperative spirit ensure that your event will be unforgettable and unique.
Inspired by Bernard Maybeck’s Bay Area Arts and Crafts Movement, our facility is in perfect harmony with the redwood grove under which it was built in 1930. The simple interior features a stone fireplace, large paned windows, pews and furnishings designed especially for the space, and an open-beam ceiling made of native redwood, illuminated by handcrafted lanterns. Our 2000 square foot attached reception area was renovated in 2006. It has wood parquet floors, dance floors and a raised stage for your use. An optional Child Care facility is available as well. Our modern attached kitchen allows caterers to stage food from immediately adjacent to your reception.
The Community Church of Mill Valley, United Church of Christ, is an open and affirming congregation that welcomes people from varied religious backgrounds without regard to race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. We offer our facilities to any individuals or groups, with any or no religious affiliation. Guests are welcome to rent either our sanctuary, out reception room or both.
