Enjoy one of San Francisco's most dramatic views from the windows of Greens Restaurant. You and your guests will appreciate the cuisine and hospitality of our highly praised restaurant located on the Marina, facing the Golden Gate Bridge.
Chef Annie Somerville creates a new menu daily, drawing from a repertoire that has made Greens one of the top vegetarian restaurants in the country.
Greens, located in a reconverted warehouse in Fort Mason, opened in 1979 under the auspices of the San Francisco Zen Center. Since 1977 the former Army supply facility has been the seat of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It is currently home to more than 50 non-profit visual and performing arts, cultural and environmental organizations.
Greens' airy, art-filled interior ranks as one of the most dramatic dining spaces in the city. With a 30-foot ceiling, the main room makes a soaring setting for contemporary paintings and redwood sculpture. The western wall, mostly window, frames a sweeping view of the San Francisco Bay, marina, Golden Gate Bridge and the Marin Headlands. Built by San Francisco Zen Center carpenters, the restaurant incorporates 12 types of wood, whose use can be seen in the massive black walnut doors, the entry stairs, the curved bar, the banquette seats and the dining tables.
Greens has received approximately 56 profile views in the last three months.
Greens is one of 1,088 wedding sites, locations and event venues in California and among 4,302 wedding sites, locations and event venues listed nationwide on GatheringGuide.com.
