Banquet facilities are available for groups from 12 to 300. The elegant upstairs banquet rooms both have hand- cut stone walls, huge beams, fabulous antique fittings and a warm, romantic, private atmosphere. The Timber Room also has direct access to a private outdoor brick patio.
The outdoor Stone Patio is also available for groups of up to 100. An authentic wine cave built into the hillside in the mid-1800s opens onto the Stone Patio. For large weddings, the entire restaurant, including the downstairs dining room and dance floor, is available.
The Stonehouse is a landmark building in historic downtown Nevada City, the most charming former Gold Rush town in the beautiful, forested Sierra foothills. Both the restaurant building and the entire downtown are on the National Register of Historic. Places. Within walking distance are the Northern Queen Hotel, set on 33 acres of forested grounds, and more than half a dozen B&Bs. The Red Castle Inn, next door to the Stonehouse, has been called one of the 10 best B&Bs in the country. Plus the shops, restaurants, wineries, galleries and live theatres--all within an easy walk.
The Stonehouse regularly receives rave reviews from wedding guests for our food, service and atmosphere. Our Banquet Manager and staff will work with you to make sure that, at the end, you can say "it was just perfect". We'll work with you on the event itself, plus help you with the custom details that makes a wedding your special event--from a horse-drawn carriage to photographers, flowers, the wedding cake, music, dancing....even casino tables (yes, we've done it.)
