The Hollywood United Methodist Church, located in the heart of Hollywood, offers a beautiful setting for your wedding. As magnificent as this Gothic structure appears on the outside, it is even more beautiful on the inside. The interior of the sanctuary is considered one of the finest in the greater Los Angeles area. It offers a long center aisle in the sanctuary with seating for 500 on the main floor and, if needed, an additional 350 in the balcony. The ceiling is high and is supported by what appears to be ornate, carved wooden beams with cherubs mounted for decoration. Beautiful stained glass windows adorn both sides of the sanctuary and a large stained glass window is over the altar. Still another large and beautiful window is visible to those who look above the balcony.
The church offers a pipe organ and/or grand piano for a variety of wedding music. Special arrangements may be made for guest musicians and/or recorded music to further extend the musical possibilities. The church tower houses a 32-note carillon that may be played at the conclusion of a wedding when the hour is not too late and arrangements are made in advance.
The pastors, the wedding director and the church organist are willing to work with you to plan a wedding that suits your needs. Guest ministers are welcome with the approval of the wedding director and the senior minister of the church. It is important to the staff that the wedding reflects your wishes as well as maintains the dignity of the worship space in which the wedding is held.
For small weddings on a limited budget, Hollywood United Methodist Church has a beautiful chapel that seats up to 100 guests. The setting is much less ornate and music accompaniment is limited to piano, guest musicians or recorded music. But this intimate setting is a friendly space when the wedding party is small and the number of guests will not exceed a comfortable 50 to 75 people.
