The Beat Meters play their own rootsy versions of danceable, funk, rock, and blues primarily from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and a smattering of tunes from the 80's, 90's to the present. They also perform mainstream and smooth dinner jazz for any event, and the traditional ceremonial music for most weddings.
The personnel includes Gary Bauman on lead guitar, Joe Kaline on rhythm guitar, Eva Maass on bass, Ed Randol on woodwinds, and George Smeltz on drums. All band members are accomplished vocalists in their own right, and jump effortlessly from lead to backup as required by the material.
They are a working band featured in various venues in and around the Bay Area. Check The Sons of Emperor Norton calendar to keep up on The Beat Meters live appearances. Also check out their repertoire and audio samples. To contact The Beat Meters, send email to The Beat Meters or Joe Kaline, or phone.
