Owners Henry Carrillo Jr. and Christopher Rubino, original owners of Bella Italia Bistro and Wine Bar, are very passionate that their restaurant presents a wholesome interpretation of ambitious Italian American home cooking. Executive Chef Jesus Mendoza, formerly of Michelles in Santa Rosa for over 25 years had moved to Rocklin in 2003 to retire. However retirement didn't sit well with Mendoza, "I was used to working 10-12 hour days. I got tired of doing nothing." At that point he joined Henry Carrillo and Chris Rubino at the Bella Italia and then moved on to join them at Rubino's.

Mendoza orchestrates a comprehensive menu of the refined yet identifiable dishes associated with cozy restaurants in New York 's Italian American neighborhoods in the 1940's and 50's. Looking for old-time spaghetti and meatballs, veal picatta, chicken parmesan and the like with old-time quality attentive service - Rubino's is the place! Almost all wines on the largely California list are available by the glass as well as the bottle and the specials are exciting for their adventurous spirit.

Under the stewardship of these passionate gentlemen, this independent and neighborly restaurant will definitely lead the Rocklin community as well as provide a fantastic family dining experience.
