Wedding photojournalist Angie Silvy may be one of the most envied professionals in the business. An Australian native turned Bay area local; this now internationally acclaimed photojournalist boasts a current clientele list from remote places around the world, including Italy, Australia and the United States.
Silvy got her start right out of high school as an assistant for designer Stuart Membery. An enduring role model for Silvy, Membery was the first to introduce her to the real world of fashion, photo shoots and turning the simplest of settings into something beautiful and glamorous. Silvy went on to become a fashion and product stylist with Mode Brides Magazine in Australia, where she developed a passion and gift for photography.
She left Mode for formal training at the "Paddington School of Photography" and "Sydney University". In 1995, she came to the United States and quickly built a reputation as a world-class snowboard photographer, shooting for several industry publications and companies including, Transworld Snowboarding, Snowboarder Magazine, Heckler, Burton, Sims and Billabong.
Despite her success as a sports photographer, she could no longer stay away from her first love - photojournalism and fashion, and wedding photography. She has quickly become one of the brightest stars in the business, traveling the world to shoot weddings.
More and more brides are shifting from more traditional posed wedding photography to candid and often more black and white pictures. Silvy has mastered this modern approach, leaving her signature, refreshing and innovative style on every shot. Silvy's quick eye and ability to be spontaneous enable her to play the role of a quiet observer, capturing the energy and day with elegance.
