A man whose personal mission is “photographing people,” Stewart Woodward has dedicated his entire professional career to the business, science and art of photography. A 1977 graduate of the New England School of Photography, Stewart uses his unique ability to help his subject’s feel relaxed and natural before the camera to create truly striking images.
Photographing people has been Stewart’s specialty since he first looked through a camera over thirty-five years ago. He is equally adept at capturing the expressions of his subjects in fun and playful situations as well as serious business portraits. A true student of the art form, Stewart is constantly experimenting with his personal photography, shooting with everything from a plastic toy camera to his state-of-the-art digital equipment.
Stewart’s countless hours spent looking through the camera plus his many years in the photo industry and as a past president of the Commercial and Industrial Photographers of New England and a member of the American Society of Media Photographers have made him extremely proficient with all aspects of digital and traditional capture.
In 1994, Stewart formed Visual Talent Group; the studio quickly established a reputation for professionalism and creativity by combining traditional choreographed portraiture with candid photographs, earning him a solid base of referrals. This success opened the door to other opportunities. In response to the demand for on-location photography of people for the use in corporate, editorial and advertising the studio shifted its attention to a more business-to-business focus.
