Baltimore Clayworks was founded in 1980 by nine potters and ceramic sculptors who sought to establish a community center for artists, students, and the public to experience and learn about clay. Today, Clayworks is located in two historic buildings in Mt. Washington in Northwest Baltimore. The Provincial House is dedicated to exhibitions of local, national, and international ceramic artists. Rotating exhibitions of functional and sculptural work are installed throughout the first floor of the 7,000 square foot facility. The Provincial House, an 1880s historic stone building, houses 4 exhibition galleries, meeting space and administration. The Provincial House holds 70 comfortably seated throughout the exhibition galleries and a maximum of 160 for a stand-up reception. There are seven public first floor rooms ranging in size. Baltimore Clayworks is accessible to persons with impaired mobility, except for the second floor. An accessible bathroom is available; there are a total of four bathrooms in the Provincial House. A fully-equipped kitchen is available for the use of any caterers and guests. The Provincial House is suitable for receptions, dinners, parties, and meetings.
All arrangements for building access, including rental delivery and pick-up, must be made through the Gallery & Event Manager, Ann Hazels.
Baltimore Clayworks Provincial House has received approximately 426 profile views in the last three months.
