The Walking Bear Resort is located in Whitefish, Montana. It has two Lodges, The Walking Bear Lodge and the Black Bear Lodge. They can be rented together or separately. The Walking Bear Lodge is a 4500 Square Foot log and timber frame house which was built with touches of the historic lodges of the national parks. It was built in 2009 and was designed as a guest lodge from the start. Extra sound proofing, two large kitchens,4 covered porches, 4 fireplaces, it is simply beautiful.
The Smaller lodge is a 5 bedroom, 2 bath, 2200 square foot guest house. It gives you just enough separation and privacy but allows guests to easily gather together. The landscaping was all done with weddings and family reunions in mind. There are two additional Lodges to be built in the future planning. What makes it unique is that you have an estate like setting for you and your guests to enjoy. You can hot tub, play horse shoes, take walks, hold your wedding reception while being able to spend time with your family and friends. It is less expensive then hotels, and you can save the cost of renting one venue for your wedding and another for the reception.
It allows you to enjoy all the beauty of the area.
The wedding area was left natural enough for the true Montana wedding but the grassy areas were professionally done. The Lodge in the back round, with its elaborate stone work, rustic beams and logs is enchanting in the summer evening light. The site is made for Large Wedding tents.
It is close to everything yet feels secluded and private. There are many picture taking areas. The space is constructed so that you can add your touches. It will create so many memories and give you plenty of time before the wedding to enjoy all those friends and family that you have have invited to share your special day. You get to be a guest too.
