Bam- Jazz has been in existance since 1979 where they first played at the Buffalo Grille in Austin Texas. Under the leadership of trumpeter/ vocalist Bill Averbach, the group is now playing jazz and blues venues and festivals from Texas to the Carolinas and is preparing to record a new CD live in the spring.
Playing the music of Cab Calloway, Louis Jordan, Louis Armstrong and many others, Bam- Jazz has very strong roots in New Orleans jazz and blues. Some of the regular members of the band include Ernie Durawa, Russ Scanlon, Adam Sztyber, Larry Eisenberg, Alex Coke, John Shaughnassey, Jim Lacky, Ken Blinko, and Bill Averbach.
