Anjela Lynn's experience in performing began at the age of 5 in the church choir. By the age of 12, she knew exactly what she had, and how to use it.
In 2000, she decided to try something different. She sat in at a gig with the JProject as a favor to TC Carter (Electric Relaxation) She realized, "Hey, I like this!" The nightlife- the clubs and bars had new meaning and purpose.
At the request of Mike Houston (The JProject), she auditioned for and accepted the female lead position for the Critics. And it was Jeff Houston (The JProject) that introduced her to the Paul Robeson Performing Arts Co, where she continues to perform.
In 2006, she became the lead female along with male lead Rick Linzy in SoulMine, which was started by Vynce Watson and Scott Remillard (both formerly of the Critics). She has been seen in a few venues with the Wilby Fletcher Jazz Trio. She has also performed with members (past and present) of the John Puma Bands.
She has performed with Stevie Wolf and The Blues Exspress and on occasion with Sam Wynn as a vocalist/ keyboard duo.
In 2007, her love and passion for R&B/ Jazz music brought her together with bassist Kent Frazier forming Intimate Connection, performing the best of old and new R&B hits.
Anjela is currently the lead female vocalist on The JProject feat. Anjela Lynn and The Critics.
Anjela Lynn is a little woman in a small frame with a HUGE passion for music and a vocal sound to match. Her strong, confident, yet sweet and sensual voice and style will warm and calm you, and leave you astonished and begging for more. (That's my opinion, check her out and judge for yourself).
