Why a personal Chef? Beat the crowds at your favorite restaurants, have dinner waiting for you when you get home, or sample different cuisines in the comfort of your own dining room. Maybe you have an important impression to make on a first date?
Can I cook meals to reheat later? Absolutely...Chef Ryan can prepare a number of different meals to be enjoyed throughout the week. Proper cooling and storage of foods ensures at least a week of freshness in your own refrigerator.
Can I rent a Chef to cater? Catering for small gatherings (up to 20 people) is ideal. Please provide anywhere from a week to a few days advance notice for menu formulation and planning.
What areas do you serve? Portland and its surrounding areas are reasonable. Special orders for outlying communities are available.
Do you provide lessons? You're more than welcome to watch as I cook. I recommend that customers let me prepare at least one meal for them before committing time and money to learning from me. Cooking and teaching with someone else actually lengthens the process.
What about nutrition / dietary requirements? I'm familiar with various requirements such as low - sodium, reduced calorie, low - carb, diabetic, and dental soft diets. Also, religious restrictions such as Halal and Kosher preparation are accommodated(depending upon availability).

Can I order anything I want? Yes. As a chef, I pride myself on being able to research and recreate any cuisine. As long as your kitchen has some basic necessities, the sky is the limit. |

What hours are available? Chef Ryan can make appointments for 24 hour cooking. Please keep in mind that cooking before 7:00 am or after 9:00 pm costs $5.00 more per hour. Many grocery stores close at night so it may be necessary to shop ahead of time for yourself or spend the additional money to have me shop for you and set myself up in your kitchen.

How do you estimate cost? I charge by the hour (1.5 hours minimum) and by mileage, which necessarily includes trips to the grocery store and the round trip mileage to and from the Mt. Tabor area in Southeast Portland. Preparation hours before 7:00 am and after 9:00 pm cost an additional $5.00 / hour. Chefs need their beauty sleep too!! |
