The Union Project provides neighborhood space to connect, create and celebrate.
Through the restoration and reuse of the abandoned former Union Baptist Church, we provide a gathering and working space for artists, community builders and people of faith.
Key to meeting its mission and focusing on sustainability, the Union Project houses the following social enterprises that are creating new economic opportunities for neighborhood residents.
*
Space Rental - providing gathering space for community, family, and professional events
*
Eat UP Cafe - fresh baked goods and artfully prepared meals while training youth aging out of foster care
*
Ceramics@UP - a production pottery company employing high school youth
*
Glass Action - preserving historic windows and catalyzing community development
The Union Project serves as a highly visible catalyst for neighborhood redevelopment and historic preservation on a large scale - and will develop the hearts, minds and skills of community members along with the physical space. The Union Project represents the best of Pittsburgh's creative thinking, action and investment. This community-supported project will only exponentially increase its impact as funds are raised and capital work is completed to transform and reuse this important building.
Union Project has received approximately 143 profile views in the last three months.
Union Project is one of 202 wedding sites, locations and event venues in Pennsylvania and among 6,146 wedding sites, locations and event venues listed nationwide on GatheringGuide.com.
