The musicians of Sequoyah Strings bring you the highest quality music available in East Tennessee. Founded by violinist Karen Kartal and cellist Ihsan Kartal, they have been playing together since 1991. Individually, they have over 20 years each of professional experience. They perform with the finest musicians in Knoxville, and are dedicated to providing the highest level of professionalism and musical excellence.
The musicians of Sequoyah Strings all have Masters Degrees in performance on their instrument or the equivalent in training and professional performance experience. Our musicians have won prestigious competitions and held principal and concertmaster positions in orchestras throughout the United States, Europe and Canada. Sequoyah Strings Musicians have performed in Taiwan, Japan, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Turkey, Egypt, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Israel, New York's Lincoln Center, and throughout the United States in solo, chamber, and orchestral performances.

Sequoyah Strings offers ensembles of any size from a trio to a full orchestra. We perform for any type of event from weddings and receptions to special occasions, church events, business parties, anniversaries, and funerals. String quartets and trios are most popular for weddings and receptions.
