Divisi Strings is a young, diverse group of musicians whose goal is to provide stunning music for all events. We began in October of 2006 with just a single quartet, and have grown to number over sixty hand- selected musicians who exhibit the highest levels of musicality.
All of our musicians have received their Bachelor's degree in music performance and most of them continued their studies at prestigious music institutions like Rice University, University of North Texas, Indiana University, Juilliard School of Music, SMU, and New England Conservatory. Divisi Strings' musicians have taken positions in orchestras like the Houston Grand Opera, Houston Ballet, Austin Symphony and Austin Lyric Opera, Fort Worth Symphony, and the Met Opera Orchestra.
Founder Shelli Mathews has won numerous competitions, scholarships and awards for her musicianship, and has even been featured in a Blockbuster movie with stars like Richard Gere, Helen Hunt, and Shelley Long. In 2005, Shelli exhibited her talent in front of millions with Beyoncé at the Super Bowl in Houston, Texas.
