The Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden, New York City's only surviving day hotel, offers a unique 19th-century setting for weddings, private parties, corporate events and meetings, and film shoots. Guided tours of the eight period rooms can be incorporated into any special event.
Events for up to 50 guests may be held in the Tavern Room on the first floor, the Orientation Center on the second floor, or the Museum Garden.
The Museum transports visitors back to the Mount Vernon Hotel, a 19th-century country resort for New Yorkers escaping the crowded city below 14th Street. The collection's period furniture and artifacts recreate the historic rooms as they would have appeared during the 1820's and 30's when the building was used as a day hotel.
The Museum Garden showcases a late 18th-century/early 19th-century American design. Species include Hawthorne trees, lilacs, wisteria, rhododendron and English ivy. It also features an herb garden and a gazebo.
The Museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned and operated by The Colonial Dames of America.
