I purchased my first camera on layaway at the B-x when I was 17. I've taken thousands of pictures since then. I'll shoot just about anything, and will go just about anywhere. I am not afraid of heights, but I will not crawl into tight spaces. I love the challenge of doing something new, as I see learning as a never ending process. Lights, emotion, and shadows are what makes life interesting. You just never know exactly what another person sees.
I graduated from Brooks Institute in 1983 with a B.A in professional photography. My very first job was for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee. The first decade of my career was spent exclusively doing industrial photography, which included aviation, military test documentation, and many different aspects of scientific and technical photography. I moved away from those subjects for a more commercial approach, and now my children are frequently my experimental subjects.
There have been fantastic changes in photography in recent years. I have complete digital capability, but can make you the most beautiful archival silver print you have ever seen if you appreciate traditional methods. Ask. Along with my Nikon digital gear I have a Hasselblad which I dearly love to shoot with, and several antique cameras which are fun to use too. You can find me in Bellingham, where I live and work.
