We are Portland, Oregon photographers Shelley and Michael Leyland, and we most definitely get it about capturing the essence, that magic of weddings, because we ourselves have long been romantically married. We know magic when we see it. And there’s been magic in each of the hundreds of weddings we’ve shot.
This is important because after the event--after the food is devoured and your dress is packed away--that’s when you discover the photography as the real keeper from the day. The wedding photography: the story of the beginning of a greater story. It will become part of your future, forever gracing your walls, desktops - wherever your most personal memories are displayed.
So we shoot your wedding as though it were our own--with energy, experience, and a genuine sense of fun. Individually, or as a team. Uniquely. Consistently. From the family shots, to the small intimacies of a shared smile, or how your arms entwine as you dance--we capture the complete feel of the moment, in hundreds of varied, artful, natural, photojournalistic/candid images. No contrived posing.
We strive to maintain a natural feel to the "event photography" aspects of being Portland photographers as well--utilizing the same general approach which we apply to the weddings. We develop a finished product which reflects the human qualities of your conference, party.
