Black Dog was created ten years ago by Roy Thomas in an effort to build a business doing something he loved. It was sailing or photography. He made the right choice and business growth has far exceeded his expectations. Today Black Dog has three staff photographers and specializes in wedding photography, portraiture, headshots and commercial photography. Although Black Dog is new to the Mystic, CT area, they have photographed over 300 events in the NYC metro area - many at exclusive venues such as Tavern on the Green, The Saint Regis Hotel, Cipriani's and The New York Yacht Club. They have also photographed hundreds of portraits as they have grown the portraiture side of their business over the years as well. Outside of Black Dog, Roy teaches "Studio Lighting " at the Center for Visual Arts in Summit, NJ and will soon be offering a variety of photography workshops in his studio. Black Dog is conveniently located in Mystic on Route 1, directly across from the Mystic Train Depot."
