Hello,
I'm writing to inform you about my latinjazz ensembles.
Please call or click on "Request Information" to request live samples of our latinjazz trio, quartet, quintet, and sextet to determine whether our music would be appropriate for your event or celebration. I think it probably is, since our music could go both ways: it can be as soft or as lively as needed, and isn't boring due to the Latin rhythms. Additionally, since we're using hand percussions (bongos, congas, tambora, shakers, etc.) instead of a drum set, we take very little space and have total control over the volume.
And we've added jazz improvisation not only to the salsa rhythm (which is more common), but also to the merengue, cumbia, bachata and bolero, creating what we call salsajazz, merenguejazz, cumbiajazz, bachatajazz and bolerojazz, which can be very appropriate as a non - boring type of background music.
For soft music we perform mostly bolerojazz and bachatajazz; for more lively music we do salsajazz, merenguejazz and cumbiajazz.
We purposely created our demos from "live recordings" - recordings done without computerized corrections - with all the chats, noises and imperfections of a live performance, so you get to experience the group in a real, actual "live" setting: what you hear is what you'll get.
We play both Latin and American cover tunes, but add a Latin flavor to the American ones to make them more interesting and special.
I'm a full time musician, a Berklee graduate, and leader and guitar player of this instrumental Latin ensemble that varies from a trio to a sextet (also a duo without percussion when that's the only option).
The instrumentation for the trio is: spanish - electric guitar, keyboard (who also does the bass) and hand percussion. For larger ensembles, more percussion and a separate bass are added.
