Carla began her photographic career as a freelance editorial photographer with various magazines and publications in Washington, DC. While she enjoyed success in this field, her heart was always in event coverage. Being part of such an important moment in people's lives is truly an honor for her. She transitioned to full time wedding / event photography in 2003.
Her ability to work across diverse genres from commercial to editorial to event photography has attracted a broad portfolio of clients who trust and value her personal dedication to the highest quality image making. Through her photojournalisitc style, Carla is able to capture the spontaneity, joy, emotion, and style of your day with photos that present an unfolding story.
Carla has a degree in media and marketing from the University of Virginia. She also studied photography at Parsons School of Design. The key to her approach is personalization. No two events are the same and should always be a reflection of the style of the bride.
Carla brings years of documentary experience with her as well as her easygoing personality. Being both technically and creatively skilled, her work goes a long way in adding to the exciting, journalistic coverage of your wedding day.

She has experience with wedding traditions from many cultures, including Jewish, Catholic, Korean, African - American, as well as interfaith weddings, commitment ceremonies, and destination weddings.
