Rev. Dr. Rebecca Armstrong is an ordained Minister and has officiated over seven hundred weddings since 1992. She has graduate degrees from the University of Chicago Divinity School, Meadville-Lombard, the Unitarian-Universalist seminary and in 2004 received her doctorate from Chicago Theological Seminary.
A professional musician and mythologist, she worked for twelve years as International Out Reach Director with the Joseph Campbell Foundation, leading seminars around the world on the importance of myth and ritual in contemporary life. She is the co-founder of Friends of Compassion, an interfaith service ministry, and co-led a pilgrimage to India where her group met with the Dalai Lama.
As a minister, she has been a guest preacher, educator and workshop leader in churches around the country and abroad. Her work has received wide attention in the media and she has been published in magazines, journals and books. Rebecca has been trained in the Prepare-Enrich Couples Program with a proven track record of strengthening marriages.
Rebecca has taught courses in religion, ethics and the humanities at numerous universities including Purdue, Indiana, DePaul, Benedictine, National Lewis and Prairie State. Since 2009 she has taught at the Indiana State Prison for the Purdue University program.
She meets with clients in her downtown Chicago office on weekends and from her home in northwest Indiana or at some other mutually convenient spot. You are invited to set-up a free half hour meeting to determine if you would like to work with her for your ceremony or for counseling/coaching.
