Keshua Ferguson Orisme developed a passion for photography in the early 1990's. She considered it a form of self-expression and connectivity to others. She became a professional photographer and in 2002, founded D.I.V.A. (Design In Visual Artistry) Photography Inc. Her professional career began in New York but after a few chilly winters, she decided to look into warmer climates which first led her to Atlanta, Georgia.
She did some freelance photography in Atlanta, however her affinity for its eclectic style and culture led her to settle permanently in Miami, Florida.
Keshua studied photography at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and obtained an Associate of Science degree. She expanded on what she learned by assisting several established photographers in the South Miami area. She has since established herself as professional photographer and has been commissioned to photograph several celebrities including: Jesse Jackson, Kirk Franklin, Alonzo Mourning, Jessica Simpson, Blu Cantrell and the late Celia Cruz and many others in the entertainment industry. In addition, her work has been published in Flava Magazine and The Miami Herold. She has also done numerous CD covers and calendars.
Keshua brings a unique perspective in portraiture by merging consumer photography with an editorial style. She has an innate ability to take traditional photographs in a way that is contemporary, elegant, fashion-inspired and at times edgy while still capturing a photograph that is timeless. Her seventeen-year background and training in social work provides her with the ability to connect with her clients on many levels, which is evident in her portraits.
