I approach the documentation of your wedding like I would a photo or multimedia feature for a magazine: by understanding your needs as a couple, researching your wedding location, making sure your family and friends are comfortable in front of the camera, and being flexible to changing situations. My photographs are a blend of journalistic style and fine art - I capture wonderful moments as they naturally unfold, modeling my work on the hope that when you look at your wedding photographs in the years to come, you will re-live the true spontaneity and joy of the day. In addition to providing you with intimate and candid images, I pride myself on creating and developing beautiful portraits of you and your loved ones. Every image you receive from me will retain a natural look, but be professionally color corrected and touched up as necessary. By forming a relationship with you before your special day, I ensure that your photographs reflect your personalities and story.
My work has appeared in publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times, Getty Images, The Denver Post and various other magazines and newspapers. In 2008 I was awarded the finalist for the Pulitzer Prize Gold Medal in Public Service. I have won numerous awards for my work, exhibited with the Photographic Resource Center in Boston as one of 30 artists changing the future of photography and was runner up for the Magnum Photo Agency award as the Best Female Photojournalist Under 30. Having worked and lived around the globe as a photojournalist, I am fluent in English and Spanish. Raised in New York, I received my B.A. in Cultural Studies at the University of Rochester and M.A. in Photojournalism from Ohio University. A portion of my proceeds helps fund the education of school children in West Africa.
