My philosophy for photographing a wedding is pretty simple - stay out of the way. My method is to let the day unfold naturally and then capture the moments as it does. As a documentary photographer, I consider it a great honor and pleasure to be given access to one of the most important events of your life. I don't come with a list of shots I have to remember to take, but rather I treat each wedding as an individual, special event.
My preference is to cover the entire day, getting to your wedding as early as possible. Some of the real magic moments happen while hair is being done and make-up applied. The pre-wedding nervous energy is, to me, one of the most exciting parts of the day. I believe that weddings are about the little events that make up the whole; in the truest sense, capturing these events is what creates the unique story of your wedding. No two are ever the same. Thirty years down the road you won’t care who stood next to whom in the front of the church, but you will look back at your album to recall the experience and story of your wedding day. I can help capture that experience in images.
