The words “Asher” and “Photography” have been synonymous ever since I received my very own camera on my 10th birthday.

Growing up with a father who was a photographer, I came to appreciate the art that photography is at a young age. My high school years are were I really claimed photography as my own expression if who I am and what I value.

Fast-forward a few years, taking pictures for friends of their families and children led me to this passion I had behind the lens of a camera capturing the essence of these human beings souls. With the encouragement of friends and my husband, Dru, I became motivated to live my dream and open a photography business for people who wanted photos of their friends, and family that were not posed or stiff-but that captured the essence of their soul in a relaxed setting.

I studied under Mike Bowen who was Ansel Adams assistant for the last seven years of Ansel’s life. Mike Bowen brought a whole new concept to B&W photography that I had never experienced before that opened my eyes to the depth and emotion of a black and white photo.

Why did I choose Eden Photography as the name of my business? I wanted a name that was meaningful. Eden means; any place of complete bliss and delight and peace. Those three things are what I want my photographs to capture-hence Eden Photography.
