Ghassan’s restaurant came to existence in December 1975 at its first location on High Point Rd. Although we served a variety of sandwiches such as the cold Italian sub, salads and shish-kabobs, we quickly became famous for our steak and cheese subs. Our menu changed a little through the years, and we later became famous for our chicken kabobs (especially in the form of platters).
We continuously kept up with our good quality, and the restaurants have been remodeled many times since their conception. This is what helped our continuous success and what earned us many awards such as the Reader’s Choice Award in 2003 for "Best Heart Healthy Restaurant."
Originally the restaurant was a partnership between Khaled and his brother Ghassan (this is where the name of the restaurant came from); in 1995, Khaled and his family bought his share and became the sole owners.
We have been known for our friendly staff in all of the locations, some of them have been with us for many years, which speaks of the good employer/employee relationship.
As owners of the business, we are all a health conscious bunch and that is reflected in our choices of the best quality and freshest ingredients in our menu items.
Our menu offers a wide variety of healthful choices and it’s no coincidence that we won first place by the Triad as a "Heart Healthy Restaurant." We know a lot of customers following a weight management program who attested to successfully attaining their goal by sticking to a daily meal from Ghassan’s, particularly the Chicken kabob platter without the fries and extra salad.
