Henna has been used since the Bronze Age to dye skin, hair, fingernails, leather silk and wool. In several parts of the world it is traditionally used at festivals and celebrations. It is multi branched with spine tipped branches. The henna plant is native to tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, Southern Asia and the Middle East. Powder is formed from dried henna leaves and mixed with dye releasing ingredients to form a paste and is used as a semi permanent dye for hair and body art.
Hands of Henna brings the art of Mendhi (henna body art or temp tattoos) to Central Massachusetts. Incorporate the services of a henna tattoo artist into your next event.
Henna body art designs (temporary tattoo) will last between one and four weeks depending on the frequency the tattooed area is washed and how long the henna paste stays on the skin once applied. Covering your tattoo with liquid band aid or medical tape after the paste dries will help prevent the paste from crumbling off. When bathing or swimming covering your tattoo with Vaseline will assist with prolonging the life of your tattoo. The palms of your hands and bottoms of your feet will stain close to a mahogany color. Other areas of your body will darken to an orangey brown.
Hands of Henna has received approximately 25 profile views in the last three months.
