When Sheryl Borish opened the first Marathon in 1984, her goal was simple: to provide the neighborhood with high quality, appealing food at an excellent value. The seeds Sheryl planted in her 10- seat burger joint in Northeast Philadelphia grew into what Marathon is today. Our talented team of chefs, headed by Executive Chef Luke Eschbach, shares the same core principles, such as consistency, a focus on freshness and sourcing the best seasonal products available.
Working with local artisans, we have moved towards creating warm and creative spaces that feel good to dine in and work in and that fit integrally into Philadelphia's neighborhoods. We take great pride in being part of Philadelphia's landscape and feel deeply rooted to our community.
