These days' female vocalists are literally a-dime-a-dozen, but every once in a while one comes along that stops you in your tracks by their sheer expressiveness and deep soulfulness. Lynda Morrison is just such a vocalist. A seasoned veteran, she has the vocal power to slam you against the wall and, at the same time, a vulnerability that will melt your heart and move you to tears. Lynda Morrison began her professional music career in her teens when she went on the road with various club bands in the 1980's. By the end of the decade she had already participated in multiple tours and recording projects. She quickly became the girl everyone called to sing on their albums and in their bands. In the early 90's Lynda recorded her first solo album, "The River". Lynda also wrote or co-wrote many of the songs on it. The album was a regional success and has since sold out!
Now, following stints in regional gospel groups and blues bands, she performs with "Mercy", which features her and a four piece back up band. With this line up Lynda covers classic soul, R&B, rock and blues pumping fresh new life into them with her extraordinary vocal prowess. There is also a healthy dose of originals included in her repertoire. Lynda's powerful voice supported by professional back up musicians and a repertoire of music that speaks to the soul all combine into a package that leaves the audience always wanting more.
