The Montclair Bistro is tucked into the wooded hillside in the affluent area of the Oakland Hills.
Built in 1948, the style of the building is French Provincial with much attention paid to detail, from the weather vane atop the peaked roof, the half-timbering, to the fieldstone layed among the weathered bricks along the walls and pathways.
Inside, discreet artwork on speckled walls in tones of soft leaf green and butterscotch, unobtrusive dark carpeting, comfortable chairs upholstered in a soft, dark fabric, and white linen-and-butcher-paper-covered tables create an intimate, homelike setting.
The new banquet facilities are equally intimate with tawny sueded walls, large antique mirrors and a faux fireplace giving off natural looking firelight. There is also a draped archway creating a theater stage with a small dance floor and a state of the art sound system. Also available is a miked podium and a pull down screen for presentations.
The facility is able to do breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner buffets, banquets, and plated meals. The room can hold 80 people seated and 120 standing, with the room arranged in rounds, long banquet tables, or theater style, as is needed by the clients.
