PhotoJava Photography was established in 2008 by photographer Jeff Cicolani in Austin Texas. Jeff's goal is to bring an edgy, contemporary style to traditional photography. Wedding, engagement, and portrait photography does not need to be mundane, or traditional. Certainly some tradition is needed and acceptable, they are traditions for a reason, but when it comes to style, Jeff feels it is far more important to try to speak to the personality of the subject (or subjects). Photography can do so much more than simply capture a moment. It can be more than a record of events.
Photography can, and should, capture the essence of the subjects. Traditional photography aims to capture a specific image. At PhotoJava Photography, we feel photography should tell us something about the subjects; wit, humor, fun, passion, struggle. If you hire PhotoJava to capture your wedding, portrait, or other event, you can be sure when someone sees the image 20, 30 years from now, they will know something about you, as an individual, couple or family.
Every shoot is preceded by a personal interview with the photographer. In this interview Jeff will work with you to determine your interests, needs, and wants for the upcoming shoot. He will develop several ideas for the shoot based on your personality. The idea being to add as much about you as possible to the images. For portrait work, Jeff prefers to work environmentally, meaning on locations which are important to you. There three principals we try to incorporate into all of our shoots... quality, personality, and fun. You will get top notch images and prints which speak to you as a person or couple, and you will have fun at the shoot.
