They say the story began in the middle of the nineteenth century when the Saratoga Village tinker built a stable to protect his old horse from the impending winter. On cold days, he would drape the horse with blankets and hang a hat, complete with a feather plume, on its head to protect his steed from the brisk Santa Cruz Mountain weather. On the site of this stable, The Plumed Horse Restaurant opened its doors for business in 1952. Since its opening the restaurant has matured to become one of Silicon Valley's oldest and most revered. The restaurant has maintained an impeccable reputation for fine service and culinary excellence by combining old world charm and elegance with contemporary versatility and creativity.
