This quote sincerely explains my personal view on photography, and how I view my personal photography. I have always tried to capture memories, one moment at a time. Memories last a lifetime through the use of film, whether it's real live film or digital photography. To capture those moments, those memories, and keep them preserved, the photographer has to be able to feel what the subjects are feeling. I enjoy spending time getting to know my subjects, to know what they are feeling, and know who and what they are.
Photography should be the only way to keep and remember all of your special memories. I believe that you can own the best camera but still not capture the moments. It takes a great deal of effort and patience to wait and focus on the meaning behind the pictures. I work hard to capture the moment as it happens! It's not uncommon to see me laying down on the ground, leaning over an edge, or simply waiting patiently for that perfect picture. Patience is a virtue, and there is never any rush in my photography sessions.
I love catching memories as they happen and prefer to do so in a natural setting. I do believe that you can "set up" a shot and get a wonderful picture that way, but our memories are made as events and as life happens. So why not photograph the same way?
I personally began photographing a few years ago, using my children and my pets as my subjects. I pursued a degree in information management systems, graduating from National Louis University in Washington, DC. I took some graphic design, website design, and of course, photography classes there. After that I was hooked and in love and I believe that the love of photography shows in my pictures.
I use 100% digital equipment and only shoot (to date) with Canon products.
