The Rebel Grass Band was originated in 1989 by Ray Bell. From the onset the ambition has been to maintain the heritage of American Folk and Bluegrass music. Through the years there have been members who have moved on and others who have come. Nevertheless, we continue to entertain audiences with traditional music, adding the Rebel Grass style. Our repertoire consists of traditional bluegrass, gospel, American folk, contemporary, and original material. We are an all acoustic band who provides wholesome, professional, family entertainment.
Rebel Grass is currently based in Jacksonville, Florida; however, we have performed on bluegrass stages and at festivals from The Old Thyme Fiddler's Convention in Galax, Virginia to the Suwannee River Bluegrass Festival, in Live Oak, Florida. Rebel Grass has been a favorite at the Florida Folk Festival for many years. The band has been recognized by the Southern Heritage Music Association in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 for nomination as the Southern Mainstream Artist, Bluegrass Category.
Though the band utilizes only acoustic instruments, we possess many different sound enforcement configurations allowing us to perform for audiences of twenty to 2000 with the same professional quality for which The Rebel Grass Band is known.

The band is available for Friday evening, and any time Saturday or Sunday with ample advance notice. We currently travel up to 100 miles from Jacksonville, Florida to perform. However, other arrangements can be made. |
