It starts with a unique shooting style. That is use of natural light, whenever possible to give the photographs a wide range of tones and shadows.

From there, I incorporate selective focus to give depth and importance to the subject matter and slower shutter speeds to capture a hint of motion. But, none of this means anything without perceptive timing or instinctively knowing when to snap the shutter to capture the exact moment.

The most important aspect of Realism Photography is personality or allowing the subjects to be themselves.

The only way this happens is by taking the time to get to know the client, what they're about and their unique make-up. Several meetings or phone conversations are done to accomplish this.

When the photographer and the subject(s) are at ease with one another, then and only then can the photographer capture the real you to give you a true and unhindered story of your day.

The goal of every event is to produce photographs that when viewed, evoke an emotion, be it a tear, a smile or laughter.
