Set in the rolling hills of Central Louisiana, among the whispering pines, Richmond Plantation is a working horse farm boasting over 100 acres, gated access, and security with each event. The Georgian mansion features a unique, double - curved, flying staircase with granite slab treads, mahongany risers, and custom wrought iron balusters perfect for photos. The wrought iron newel posts are topped with cannonballs from the Civil War. The seven - bedroom home itself is new but was constructed with an eye to the traditions and architecture of times long past. We offer both indoor and outdoor areas and a large raised patio with stacked stone columns which most brides favor as their dance floor. The front and backyards have ample room for tents.
The front porch features 20 - foot columns, a granite, gothic - style "R," set into the brick surface, and is ideal for evening weddings.
Many photography opportunities are available on the farm, including creekside and lakeside photos, natural settings with horses available, and the staircase may be used for an additional fee.
