Sherwood Conservatory of Music is a community music school located in Chicago's South Loop neighborhood. With 110 years of history, Sherwood is Chicago's oldest music school.
Sherwood's modern 20,000 square foot facility was built in 1999 and features 5 classrooms, 23 music studios as well as our jewel-box of a recital hall.
Our recital hall seats a maximum of 140, with 2 levels of seating centered around our 450 square foot stage. The recital hall has such excellent acoustics that a single speaker on stage can be clearly heard throughout the hall without the need for a microphone.
Sherwood is happy to offer our facilities for use as a center for arts performances, meetings and conferences, lectures, workshops, classes, or any other type of event you may have in mind. Please feel free to speak with the Registrar about using any of Sherwood's facilities, we'd be happy to hear from you.
