With a violin, cello and piano, Trio Con Brio captures the spirit of tango. We're available for gigs of all sorts in the Denver/Boulder area; parties, art openings, festive dinner parties. Feel free to dance!
Violinist Benjamin Gauss plays both viola and violin, and has a Masters in Performance from the University of Oklahoma (as well as an undergraduate degree in music from our own CU Boulder). Before returning to Colorado, he played in the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. He now plays in various local symphonies and ensembles, and makes his home in Longmont with his wife Elizabeth, a French Horn player...
Pianist Cynthia Tarkanian got a Bachelors in Performance at CU Boulder before pursuing her medical degree in ophthalmology. She won various competitions, and plays with a number of amateur ensembles. Trio Con Brio marks her return to the stage!
Cellist Lisa Haney most recently played with the Longmont Symphony and the band 'Wadi Rum'. Before that, she was in New York City, active in (mostly) rock bands, ranging from Hall & Oates to Rasputina.
