The Washington State Convention & Trade Center, opened in June 1988, has hosted more than 2,500 conventions, trade shows and other events attended by more than three and a half million delegates during its thirteen years. The facility currently offers 54 meeting rooms and ballrooms totaling approximately 105,000 square feet of space, and exhibit space totalling 205,700 square feet.

The recent Convention Center expansion includes a spectacular new arch spanning Pike Street, along with an office tower at the northeast corner of 7th and Pike. The Convention Center expansion opened in July 2001.
