Whether you choose to have a formal wedding or a more casual affair, the Washington State History Museum has beautiful, bold and unique spaces that can accommodate your ceremony, a formal dinner or cocktail hour, dancing, and more. You are welcome to select a caterer from our preferred list or bring in a caterer of your choosing. Your rental of the museum includes use of tables, chairs, and audio/visual equipment, pre-event planning assistance, an on-site event coordinator the day of your wedding.
Located at the Museum's main entrance, the Grand Lobby is the building's most open room. In the daylight, its bright airiness highlights the huge arches and beautiful balconies above, while nighttime lights from the Plaza and nearby Union Station add elegance to any occasion, particularly wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours.
The Cheney Mezzanine, which overlooks the Grand Lobby, provides a versatile space that is popular for wedding receptions and rehearsal dinners. With its rosewood paneling and bird's-eye view of the Great Hall of Washington History, the Mezzanine is perfect for almost any event. The Mezzanine also combines with the fifth floor Odlin Lobby and the Grand Lobby, adding more versatility and elegance to a larger event.
The Boeing Amphitheater and Plaza offers an exceptional site for special out-of-doors events. Whether it is a wedding ceremony in the Amphitheater or an afternoon reception on the Plaza, this beautiful area is unique and spacious. Surrounded by classic red brick arches, the majestic view of the Cascade Mountains, and the Native Washington Plaza Garden, it is truly an impressive area in which to hold your wedding.
For a unique theater-style wedding, The Mount Tahoma Auditorium, which can seat 215 guests, has an enclosed projection booth, built-in stage, and sound system with microphones and A/V equipment. The spacious auditorium lobby has its own outside entrance as well as an inside entrance on the second floor.
Washington State History Museum has received approximately 91 profile views in the last three months.
