Our idea to begin Weddings by KISS, sprang from our own experience with the wedding planning process. We wanted something simple and sweet, but our only options were a justice of the peace, Vegas or a long drawn out process of finding a minister, photographer and location, not to mention inviting guests, planning a menu and making sure the cake arrived on time.
A justice of the peace sounded like the simplest solution but it seemed so quick and dirty that we opted for that long, drawn out process of planning an actual wedding - just remembering what we went through is exhausting. We had a wonderful wedding, but the stress of it all left us wishing there had been a simpler and yet classy option.
Alek became an ordained minister just to help his friends make the process of tying the knot a little less expensive. Andrea began shooting friends' weddings for the same reason. We both realized that our hobbies fell into a similar category and we decided to combine our forces and form a business that could help couples make it through this process with a little more in their pockets to start their lives together. If you are in the same boat we were and are looking for a way to join your lives that doesn't involve dingy chairs in a court house office or a fight with your mother-in-law about the shade of paper off-setting the color of ink on the invitations, just remember to: Keep It Simple, Sweetie.
