Lead Singer Shelby Cheyka known then as Shelby Norman grew up and graduated from Macclenny a small town in Northern Florida and in 1990 she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she met Marty Cheyka (guitar player). They started recording and co-wrote several songs together which Marty produced. Those songs landed her a national recorcing contract with Interscope/Beat Club Records.
They soon found the music business just that "business" and were not happy with the direction the label was taking her album. The experience took the passion for music they once had and replaced it with resentment. They put the experience behind them and moved to Marty's hometoen of Wausau, Wisconsin where he was already a respected musician and known for his guitar playing abilities. They soon married and started a recording studio and live sound business known as Whitehouse Productions and they have provided live sound for artists such as Eric Church, Billy Currington, Danielle Peck to name a few. Soon after moving to Wausau, they met Dan Cable (drummer) and Charlie Strong (bass player) from nearby city of Rhinelander.
Growing up in the same town Dan and Charlie have known each other most of their lives and with a mutual interst in muscic they started playing in bands at an early age. It wasn't long before they started making quite a name for themselves and were considered some of the best musicians in the area. Once meeting Marty and Shelby they hit it off immediately and soon after the Whitehouse Players were formed. They went on to win the title "Hodag Pick Off Champions of 2008".
The Whitehouse Players has showcased in Nashville and opened for national acts such as Billy Currington, Randy Houser, and Luke Bryan. You're guaranteed a good time with this high energy band. With awe-inspiring vocals, rockin guitar, funky bass and solid drums the Whitehouse Players stand out from the rest.
